Open Hymnal ~ Brian J. Dumont

Picture
The purpose of the Open Hymnal Project is to create a free, public domain, downloadable database of Christian hymns, spiritual songs, and prelude/postlude music. I am doing my best to create a final product that is "Hymnal-quality", and could feasibly be used as the basis for a printed church hymnal. This music is to be distributed as complete scores (words and music), using all accompaniment parts, in formats that are easily accessible on most computer OS's and which can be freely modified by anyone.

Hymns Without Words ~ Richard Irwin

Picture
Hymns Without Words is a free resource for people wanting to have high quality recordings of hymns in MP3 format that can be used for congregational singing. Join the thousands of people who download music every month.
All the hymns have been arranged and performed by Richard Irwin and used in services at the churches of the Ridgeway Benefice. Each hymn starts with an introduction and pauses are put between verses and/or lines when needed. Hymn lyrics are provided and we welcome emails to suggest alternative sets of lyrics for any particular tune if they are in the Public Domain or we are given permission of the copyright holder.

The Genevan Psalter Resource Center ~ Michael E. Owens

Picture

The Genevan Psalter Resource Center is intended as a center for resources and information relating to the Genevan Psalter, including any and all articles, sheet music, recordings, books, websites and metrical translations based on it. The heart of the website is currently the sheet music and recordings I've produced of the entire Genevan Psalter.  These, along with a growing number of other resources, are on the Music & Lyrics page.

All the music of the Genevan psalter is in the Public Domain.  All the recordings posted here are also in the public domain and may be copied freely.  The lyrics are copyrighted as noted, but permission has been given for their distribution as well.  Material which is not to be copied is not available on this site directly, but may be purchased through the sites on the links page.

This is a work in process.  What is here is complete, but many more items will be added, deo volente.

Small Church Music ~ Clyde McLennan

Picture

These days it is often hard to find suitable musicians to accompany congregational singing, either because the younger musicians don't like playing the 'grand hymns of the faith' or we older players sometimes struggle with the style of the newer music.

In seeking to address this need, which is often acute in small churches, home groups, age care facilities etc, and through the encouragement of a Christian friends, I have created Small Church Music whose primary aim is to:

Make good quality accompaniments for congregational singing available at no cost.
(or minimal cost in the case of copyrighted music.)
